Canada - slowing down and softening

Hello lovely souls,

I hope you’re feeling grounded, open, and well back home. I’ve been thinking of our community so much, and wanted to share a little update on our travels and teachings these past months.

As some of you know, my partner, Jacob and I have both been feeling called to explore more of the world while still doing the work we love. So, we took the leap—packed our bags, rolled up our mats, and set off.

Our first stop was Canada, where we spent precious time with Jacob’s family and his nieces. It was such a gift to slow down, be present, and soak up those heart-warming family moments. After months of busy schedules and full studios, simply sitting around a table together felt like true medicine.

After that, we took a little road trip through the Kootenays, and wow—what a place. We camped beside still lakes, swam in cold clear water, paddle-boarded at sunset, hiking through mountain trails, and let the days move at their own pace. Being surrounded by mountains and forests felt like a deep exhale. Every morning we woke up to this earthy stillness. The bears… well, they took a bit of getting used to, but even that felt like part of the medicine. A reminder that the world is bigger and wilder than our routines.

The forests and mountains really reminded me what it feels like to slow down and truly listen. A reminder of the same intention we bring to our classes, the pause, to listen, to be fully present.

Guatemala - deep practice & soul connections

After Canada, we flew straight into the vibrant magic of Guatemala to help faciliate a Yoga teahcer training. We based ourselves in Antigua for a week, wandering its cobbled streets, ducking into little cafes and soaking up the rhythm of the city. One of the biggest highlights was hiking Acatenago Volcano. Wow. It was challenging, but also one of the most rewarding and breathtaking experiences. Standing above the clouds, watching Fuego erupt in the distance, you can’t help but feel the vastness of the world. The views were surreal - Jacob captured some incredible shots that somehow still don’t do the moment justice.

After Antigua, we made our way to Lake Atitlan to help facilitate a 200 hr yoga teacher training with Breath Body Earth - the same school I trained with and have stayed loyal to for so many reasons. Being back with them felt like coming home. Jacob also attended and quietly captured the sweetest, most intimate moment with the camera.

Teaching there was such a gift. I lead 3 hour morning practices in the most beautiful shala overlooking the lake and volcanoes. The sun would rise over the peaks as we moved and breathed together. Using what I learned over the years, sharing it with a new group of yogis was such a honour. It was really special to witness everyone arrive a little unsure and then slowly grow more confident and comfortable as the weeks went on. We moved together, breathed together, and learned from one another in ways that felt so natural and honest.

We held so many sacred circles. We shared our voices, moved, dance, sang, laughed, cried, and allowed whatever to come up to be there. A place where everyone could show up exactly as they were, no masks, no expectations. Just presence. Just truth. Being held by that space was one of the most special parts of our time at the lake. We felt everything. And it that feeling, there was so much healing. We created a space that felt genuinely safe.

We left full of new friendships and deeper knowledge. I revisited parts of yoga philosophy I hadn’t touched in a while and it expanded my understanding in a way i didn’t expect. I’m carrying all of that wisdom home with me- and I cant wait to weave it into future classes with you all.
